Unit Commander George J. Balasko

Cdr. Balasko has been with the Auxiliary Police Unit since January 1984. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He graduated from the Cuyahoga Community College Private Police Academy in 1985. Cdr. Balasko is also certified as an industrial firefighter, HAZMAT technician, and medical first responder. Cdr. Balasko served as President of the Ohio Volunteer Peace Officers Association. He has presented lectures on Police Response to HAZMAT Incidents at the Ohio Attorney General’s Conference and the International Volunteer Police Conference in New York City. Cdr. Balasko is a member of the Parma SWAT Team responsible for perimeter control and logistics.

Captain Joseph Boziak, Executive Officer

Capt. Boziak has been with the Auxiliary Police Unit since September 1993. As second in command of the Auxiliary Police Unit he oversees many of the day to day operational issues in the unit. Capt. Boziak is a member of the Parma SWAT Team responsible for transportation and site security.
