Who are we and what do we do?
This is a volunteer organization similar to a volunteer fire department. The Unit is currently comprised of over 35 members interested in performing community service. The individuals come from all walks of life and are from 21 years of age and up.
Our unit functions to support the Parma Police Department. The members assist the regular officers in traffic control and direction, and work as partners in the police cruisers. We also provide security for school athletics, traffic control for parades, and guard crime scenes. In the event of a SWAT team callout, the Auxiliary Unit helps to maintain a perimeter and provide logistical support.
